Gibson 1923 F5 Lloyd Loar Mandolin
He plays an impressive mandolin, too, both literally and figuratively. The series of Gibson mandolins that Lloyd Loar built back in the 1920s are something akin to the Stradivarius of mandolins. Mandolin virtuoso Chris Thile also bought one with his MacArthur Grant. These days they go for something on the order of $250,000. I suspect you're not likely to find it laying around backstage unaccompanied.
